18 February 2025: our Federation is established
In 2025, internal disagreements led a group of masters to leave the All-Ukrainian Union. They joined forces to establish the non-governmental organisation Taekwon-Do Federation M.F.T. of Ukraine. It was registered on 18 February 2025 under Ukrainian organisation code 45697090.
The new Federation brought together coaches, athletes and clubs from different regions. For us, it opened an opportunity to develop Taekwon-Do together, support coaching and prepare the next generation of Ukrainian champions.
2025: the first months of work and sporting success
The Federation’s work began with daily training, competition travel, umpire education and families’ support. Seminars and tournaments took place in Kharkiv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil and other cities. The Danylo Demchyshyn memorial tournament on 23 March brought together 451 athletes from 12 regions.
By 18 April 2025, the Federation had 2,636 members, 82 coaches and representation in 17 regions. Of those coaches, 71 held an international Plaque licence; the community included 17 international instructors at IV Dan and above. As of 1 June 2025, the Federation already had 2,900 members and 84 instructors across 17 regions.
International results demonstrated our clubs’ strength. Solovey Team was the leading club at Open Dutch 2025. Kharkiv’s Martial Arts Centre finished second among clubs at the Holland Cup, while Iryna Mukha became overall champion at Hungary’s Spirit Open. Our masters also taught abroad and expanded their cooperation with European colleagues.
2025: international admission
The Taekwon-Do Federation M.F.T. of Ukraine was admitted to the international ITF in 2025. We work within the same pan-European branch as the All-Ukrainian Union. Its worldwide website is itftkd.sport; European activities are coordinated by the AETF at itfeurope.org.
