2014–2016: new champions and cooperation between organisations

A new generation’s European and world victories, club competitions and a memorandum between three organisations.

2014: European gold and coaching exchange

At the 2014 European Championships, Ivan Hryshchuk and Artem Bielov won their sparring divisions. Yuliia Dymashok and Danylo Demchyshyn took bronze. A younger generation was establishing itself alongside experienced Ukrainian champions.

On 3–4 May, Kateryna and Oleh Solovey taught in Germany. In June, Oleh Solovey, V Dan, led a seminar before a grading for Zakarpattia athletes at a Carpathian camp. Instruction connected international exchange with the work of regional centres.

2015: world titles for a younger generation

On 4 April, Ivano-Frankivsk hosted the ninth Ukrainian Championships, bringing together 308 athletes from 12 regions. The national competition gave clubs a shared opportunity to test their preparation and develop emerging talent.

Danylo Demchyshyn and Vitalii Solovey won world titles in Italy in 2015. Their progress linked daily club training, national competition and growing international experience.

2016: the World Cup and an agreement to work together

Danylo Demchyshyn and Vitalii Solovey continued their success, becoming European champions in Finland and European Cup winners in Romania.

The VI World Cup took place in Budapest on 12–16 October, with 1,850 athletes from 240 clubs across 58 countries. Ukrainian competitors earned 16 medals: 5 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze. Gold medallists included Vitalii Solovey, Viktoriia Stanko, Artur Kuzmin and Bohdan Tkachenko. Ukrainian clubs included Lider from Ivano-Frankivsk, Maks Sport, True Way and Artem Kychko’s club from Kyiv, and Pride from Kharkiv.

On 20 November, the Tysmenytsia Cup brought together 188 competitors under fourteen. Lider, Champion and Boiets led the team standings. Local tournaments gave children the experience on which later international careers could be built.

On 10 December in Kyiv, the All-Ukrainian Taekwon-Do Union, the Global Taekwon-Do Federation of Ukraine and the Chang Hun Taekwondo Federation (ITF) signed a cooperation memorandum. Initiated by the Union, it provided for exchanging experience and participating in one another’s events. The agreement opened practical opportunities for organisations from different branches to cooperate in competition, instruction and youth sport.
