On 5 April, Kropyvnytskyi hosted the first All-Ukrainian Taekwon-Do Tournament dedicated to the memory of Stanislav Zherebnov — an international instructor, IV Dan black belt holder, and coach who devoted more than 30 years of his life to the development of Taekwon-Do in the Kirovohrad region.
Athletes aged 7 to 18 from clubs in Kropyvnytskyi, Znamianka, and the Poltava region took part in the competition. The participants competed in forms and sparring.
In the team standings, victory was secured by athletes of the “Titan” club (Znamianka), second place went to the “Maksymum” club (Kropyvnytskyi), and third to the “Sparta” club (Kropyvnytskyi).
This tournament was a tribute to the memory of a coach who nurtured champions of Ukraine, Europe, and World Championship medallists, and the organisers plan to make it a traditional event.
The Taekwon-Do M.F.T. Federation of Ukraine expresses its gratitude to the organisers for preserving the memory of the coach and advancing Taekwon-Do in Ukraine.
