Kharkiv athlete Hanna Piharova received the Mayor's award for her victory at the 2025 Taekwon-Do World Championship in Croatia.
Today, 13 November, Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov ceremoniously honoured the city's athletes who brought glory to Ukraine on the international stage. Among those awarded was Taekwon-Do competitor Hanna Piharova, who claimed a gold medal at the World Championship among adults.
During the meeting, the mayor thanked the athlete for her perseverance, strength of spirit, and high level of preparation, and also acknowledged the vital role of coaches behind every victory of Kharkiv taekwon-doists.
“Any victory is hard-won, especially during wartime. Thank you for bringing honour to Kharkiv and Ukraine. This is a great responsibility, but also an immense privilege. We will continue to support the development of combat sports and the city’s sports infrastructure,” emphasised Ihor Terekhov.
The Mayor presented Hanna Piharova with a valuable gift — a personalised watch, and handed her coach a Letter of Appreciation from the Mayor.
The Taekwon-Do M.F.T. Federation of Ukraine congratulates Hanna and her coaching staff on yet another achievement and thanks them for their significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian Taekwon-Do on the international stage. It is thanks to such athletes that Ukraine continues to be among the leaders of world Taekwon-Do.
